Clone any published page or post into a safe draft. The live page stays untouched and stays live — your working copy is where you make changes.
Open the page in the editor
Any published page, post, or custom post type. Edit it like you normally would — Pages → find your page → Edit.
Find the Working Copy panel
It's a sidebar panel in the block editor (or a meta box, if you use the Classic Editor). No setup or configuration needed.
Click "Create Working Copy"
A draft clone is created instantly. Nothing on the live page changes — your visitors keep seeing the published version exactly as it is.
Edit freely
A blue banner across the top reminds you edits here are safe. Take an hour or a month — nothing is public until you decide it is.
The real Working Copy sidebar panel — mid-edit, with a conflict already flagged (more on that in resolving conflicts).
